01.08.2024 – 30.08.2024 H2S Technician at TOO "QHSE AKBARYS" for major
repairs at Tengiz field, KTL plant
Job description: Calibration and maintenance of respiratory protection equipment :
I was responsible for ensuring that all SCBA (Self -Containe d Breathing Apparatus) , PAPR
(Powered Air -Purifying Respirators) , and gas detection systems were properly calibrated
and fully operational.
I worked directly with the maintenance teams during the disassembly, repair, and reinstallation
of key equipment such as high -pressure pumps , compressors , separators , and valves . This
included ensuring that all safety equipment was functioning properly before starting the
repairs. I was involved in the installation, maintenance, and testing of pumps and piping
systems , as well as making sure the pressure vessels and chemical injection systems were safe
to operate.
I regularly conducted H2S monitoring across the site, ensuring that gas levels remained within
safe limits. I used gas detection systems and regularly calibrated multi -gas detectors . This was
especially important when wo rking around wellheads , crude oil treatment units , and flare
stacks during repairs.
One of my primary responsibilities was ensuring that all safety systems were in place and
functioning correctly. I performed safety audits , checking emergency shutdown systems and
fire suppression equipment to ensure that the facility complied with HSE standards . I also

ensured that all workers were properly equipped with the necessary PPE when operating in

Job Description: Maintenance and calibration of SCBA and respiratory equipment:
One of my primary duties was ensuring that all Self -Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
and other respiratory protection equipment were properly maintained and calibrated. This was
crucial given the high -risk environment of Ka shagan, where operations often involve the
presence of hazardous gases like H2S.
H2S monitoring and safety checks: I conducted regular H2S monitoring across the Kashagan
facilities, ensuring that the levels remained within safe operational limits. I utilized various gas
detection systems and performed regular calibration of multi -gas detectors. Given the specific
chal lenges of offshore production platforms and wellheads, my role was essential in ensuring
that H2S concentrations were constantly monitored du ring the capital repair period,
particularly when working around critical areas like flare systems, crude oil processing units,
and separation modules.
Safety audits and compliance: I played a key role in performing safety audits to ensure that
all equipment and personnel were in full compliance with HSE standards. This involved
checking emergency shutdown systems, ensuring the proper functioning of fire suppression
systems, and veri fying that all personnel on site were equipped with necessary PPE (Personal
Protective Equipment) to work in high -risk areas.
Emergency response readiness: Given the hazardous nature of the Kashagan field, I helped
ensure that emergency response protocols were in place, especially for H2S exposure. I
conducted drills and reviewed emergency action plans with the team to ensure that all safety
measures were pr operly implemented in case of a gas leak or other incidents. I also
