Wood (trading locally as WOOD KSS LLP) is currently recruiting for Lead Mechanical/HVAC Engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.

Responsibilities:

• responsible for wall thickness calculations for pressure vessels, process equipment nozzles, supports, etc.
• checks calculations and designs by engineers
• prepares Process Equipment Data Sheets, Design Reports and FEED Studies
• prepares Job Packs and Material Requisitions.
• signs drawings and key project documents
• produces CTR’s as required
• conducts site surveys and inspections as required
• attends Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT’s) as required
• applies advanced engineering techniques, makes decisions on engineering problems and methods, and represents the organization in conferences to resolve important questions or to negotiate with key engineers and officials of other organizations
• provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers, consults associates and peers
• provides mentoring and training to engineers
• demonstrates potential, foresight and mature engineering judgement in anticipating and solving engineering problems efficiently and economically
• contributes to Technical Proposals
• conducts technical evaluation of bids from vendors

Skills / Qualifications

• Technical Degree (Bsc) or Higher in their Chosen Discipline
• Experience of working as a Lead in their discipline for no less that 5 Years
• Ability to provide guidance and direction to project team, managing, motivating and mentoring professional engineering specialists
• Proficient user of relevant software and calculation templates
• Professional level of knowledge of applicable codes and standards
• Experience in developing design documentation in accordance with RoK regulatory documents
• Experience on projects within EPC contract (Engineering, Supply and Construction)
