As part of our international expansion, GEC Kazakhstan LLP is developing a strong presence in Atyrau to support regional clients with workshop, on-site machining, fabrication, and maintenance services.

???? Role Overview

We are seeking a Proposal Engineer (Mechanical) with strong technical and client-facing capabilities to support our operations in Kazakhstan. The ideal candidate will combine mechanical estimation expertise with marketing and relationship-building skills, playing a key role in converting inquiries into business opportunities.

???? Key Responsibilities

???? Proposal & Estimation

• Prepare techno-commercial proposals for mechanical works including fabrication, machining, maintenance, and shutdown jobs
• Perform cost estimation and analysis (materials, manpower, machining hours, logistics, overheads)
• Review RFQs, drawings, and specifications to develop accurate quotations
• Coordinate with workshop and site teams for execution planning inputs

???? Client Engagement & Marketing

• Act as a frontline representative of GEC Kazakhstan LLP
• Attend client meetings, site visits, and technical discussions
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients (Oil & Gas, EPCs, industrial plants)
• Identify new business opportunities and support business development efforts
• Follow up on proposals and convert leads into confirmed orders

???? Commercial & Coordination

• Participate in tendering / EOI submissions
• Support contract discussions and negotiation processes
• Liaise between Kazakhstan operations and India engineering team for smooth execution

???? Key Requirements

• Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• 3–8 years of experience in:
  • Proposal / Estimation / Technical Sales
  • Mechanical workshops, EPC, Oil & Gas, or heavy engineering industries
• Strong understanding of:
  • Fabrication, machining, maintenance & shutdown works
  • Costing and estimation principles

• Fluent in English (mandatory)
• Russian language skills (preferred)
• Strong communication and client-handling skills
• Ability to work independently in a client-facing role
• Commercial awareness and negotiation mindset
• Proactive, result-oriented, and adaptable in an international environment
